Space Island Group Announces The Development of a Joint Venture Arragement With Dr. William Gaubatz President of Spaceavailable LLC to Develop The Next Generation of Space Transportation
West Covina, CA -- Space Island Group, leading developer of the world's first commercial space stations and space transportation systems, today announced the development of a joint venture arrangement with Dr. William Gaubatz President of SpaceAvailable LLC of Newport Beach, California to develop a commercial version of the DC-X a single stage to orbit (SSTO) Vehicle.
At McDonnell Douglas, he originated and managed the development of the Delta Clipper reusable spaceplane system concept. He was responsible for the Delta Clipper Experimental programs (DC-X and DC-XA) that proved through flight tests that aircraft like operations could be routinely achieved for spaceplanes. His efforts and those of his team had major impacts on US space programs and policy and on initiating today’s fledgling reusable space transportation industry.
At Universal Space Lines, Inc., he was President of SpaceClipper International, leading the studies for a commercial spaceplane that could be certified for Earth to space and rapid Earth-to-Earth transportation. He contributed to pioneering efforts for investigating the physiological and psychological system requirements of public space travel and space tourism.
He is Chairman of the Space Tourism Society, a member of the X-Prize Committee and an Associate Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). He has authored numerous papers and articles and is an international speaker advocating the development of a new space transportation infrastructure.
Space Island Group is developing this arrangement to begin initial design, prototype development, testing and construction of the next generation space transportation system. This new system will revolutionize space travel and advance the development of commercial space destinations within the next 5 to 7 years. Creating a new space economy will fundamentally change the World with the discovery of new products and medical breakthroughs not capable of happening on Earth.
